### **Statement of Purpose and Declaration of Independence**
**From the Jewish Defense League of the United States of America**
The **Jewish Defense League of the United States of America (JDL USA)** issues this official statement to clarify our identity, affirm our purpose, and distance ourselves from any new or unauthorized groups using our name, symbols, or language.
We are the **original JDL**, directly descended from the circle of Rabbi Meir Kahane, z”l. Though we operated underground for a period of time due to changing political conditions, we never ceased to exist. We have now resumed public operations and reaffirm our historic mission: **to protect Jewish lives, uphold Jewish dignity, and fight antisemitism by any means necessary**.
### **Disassociation from Imitator Groups**
In recent years, we have witnessed the emergence of groups claiming to represent the Jewish Defense League while promoting ideologies and behaviors that are entirely alien to ours:
* We **do not support hate groups** that target Arabs or any other ethnic group.
* We **reject the glorification of terrorism and/or racialized violence**. While we affirm the right to **self-defense**, we categorically condemn any celebration of unjust or indiscriminate violence, including the tragic case of Baruch Goldstein, who suffered a mental breakdown that led to a horrific and condemnable act.
* We **do not recruit minors**, nor do we tolerate adults associating with underage groups. This is a strict and permanent policy.
These organizations may mimic our language or imagery, but they are **not** affiliated with us and **do not represent** our values or mission.
### **Membership Standards**
To protect the integrity of our movement and its goals, **JDL USA membership is strictly limited** to individuals who uphold the ethical and ideological principles of Torah-true Jewish strength and responsibility. We **do not allow**:
* Hard drug users
* Individuals under the age of 18
* Anyone associated with underage organizations
* Racists or fascists
* Feminists, communists, or adherents of any ideology contrary to authentic Jewish life and law
Our focus is Jewish pride, Jewish survival, and Jewish responsibility—not political fashion or reactionary extremes.
